Terms & conditions

for the hotel accommodation contract (AGBH 8.0)

English summary

Scope: these terms apply to contracts on the rental of hotel rooms for lodging and all related services ("hotel accommodation contract"). Sub-letting or non-lodging use requires the hotel's prior written consent.

Conclusion of contract: the contract is formed when the hotel accepts the customer's booking request. Claims against the hotel generally expire one year after the statutory starting date, except for liability for injury or gross negligence.

Prices & payment: agreed prices include the statutory VAT and local taxes applicable at the time of booking (except guest taxes owed directly). Invoices are due upon receipt. The hotel may request a reasonable advance payment or credit-card guarantee.

Cancellation by the customer: a cancellation right exists only if agreed in writing, provided by statute, or consented to by the hotel. If no right applies and the room is not otherwise let, the customer owes 90% of the agreed price for overnight stays, 70% for half board and 60% for full board.

Cancellation by the hotel: the hotel may cancel in specific circumstances, including force majeure, misleading booking details, reasonable concerns over safety or reputation, unlawful purposes, or breach of clause 1.2.

Room availability: rooms are available from 15:00 on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, rooms must be vacated by 12:00 noon. Late check-out may be charged.

Liability: the hotel is liable for injury to life, body or health and for damage caused by intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty. For valuables above certain thresholds, a separate safekeeping agreement is required. Parking is provided without creating a custody contract.

Final provisions: amendments must be made in text form. German law applies; the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is excluded. The hotel refers to the EU ODR platform for out-of-court dispute resolution.
